I built this from a decade of cleaning up team dysfunction nobody wanted to name. If you can recognise the pattern, you can break it.
The seven modules
The modules go in the order you will need them, from the first signs to the conversations, the dismissal and the rules that keep the same story from starting again.
1. A sobering kick. What one person who keeps the team from working actually costs you, with the excuses you make for them counted in the bill.
2. A nose for it. Checklists of the signs, the usual types of freeloader, and how to spot the quiet saboteur who looks busy in every meeting.
3. Anatomy. Why such people manipulate, complain and sabotage, the tactics they use from gaslighting to passive aggression, and how to stay out of their game.
4. The leader’s kit. Hard one-to-one conversations with the scripts written out, pressure that stays within the law, reshuffles inside the team and the incentives you control as a manager.
5. Letting go. A step-by-step protocol for a dismissal, the legal side of a parting, and how to end a partnership that has turned toxic.
6. Immunity. Hiring filters, a team culture that does not tolerate it, written values, and the habits that stop the same pattern from walking back in under a new name.
7. The hunt. A practical assignment on a real case in your own team, with the first six modules applied to it.
Who it is for
Founders, CEOs and operators who have someone on the team everybody quietly works around. The colleague who takes the credit, the partner who stopped pulling weight two years ago, the friend you hired and now cannot let go.
It is not a course on general management, and it will not help if the real trouble is workload, a broken process or a hire you never made. For those, the free diagnostic on this site names the condition more precisely than this course can.
What you get
Lectures, checklists of warning signs, conversation scripts you can read off the page in the room, and assignments done on your own team rather than on invented cases. I put the most work into the scripts. In these conversations the hard part is the first sentence, and that is exactly the sentence people usually make up on the spot.
How it works
You pay on this page. A letter arrives with a personal link to the course. There is no account to create. The link is the access, it does not expire, and the letter is its only copy, so keep it.
The course is being assembled module by module. Your access is recorded the moment the payment settles, the modules appear behind the same link as they are finished, and a letter comes on the day the first one does. If the link ever stops working, reply to that letter and I issue a new one.
Questions
When do I get access?
The letter with your link goes out as soon as the payment settles. Until the first module is finished the link opens a page that says so; after that the modules appear there one by one.
Is this legal advice on firing people?
No. Module five goes through the legal side of a parting so that you know which questions to bring to a lawyer where you operate. The decision and the paperwork stay with you and that lawyer.
Do I need an account?
No. The link in the letter is the access. If it stops working, reply to the letter or write to [email protected] from the address you paid with, and a new one is issued.
Can I pass the link to my team?
The access is personal. It is issued to you and is not meant for redistribution, which is what the terms of this site say about every course.
What does it cost?
The price is above, in your currency, and it is the amount checkout charges. The price shown on the course page in your language is the price; nothing is added at the end.
