In December 2024 Haliey Welch, a young woman who became famous for one indecent phrase in a street video interview, launched her coin HAWK. In the minutes after launch her token rose to almost $500 million in market capitalization and immediately fell by almost 90 percent, while wallets that blockchain analysts linked to the project’s team managed to sell their coins. Welch said she had known nothing, and a few months later announced that the SEC and the FBI had no claims against her.
